5 lessons to make you think about the way we treat people 👍

1st lesson- Cleaning lady;
Mr.ing is reading this to us because it ties in with leadership. If you think about it, we do work with a lot of people on campus such as.. Principle, VP, Teachers, Staff, Custodiants, Mr.Steve lol, etc. We always need to remember who they are because they all help us with atleast something throughout the school year. In our life will meet many people and they all are significant, as said in the story. That is the lesson learned. We need to be thankful and appreciative of others around us who help us. This is also reminds of last year when we had to write a blog about taking people for granted, so that's another reason on why Mr.ing might be reading this too us and how it relates to leadership.

2nd lesson- Pickup in the rain;
We are reading this lesson because we need to learn that no matter who you are, you always need to be nice and help out the ones in need. Doing something for another doesn't mean you need to get something back in return, it simply means that you're giving help or something and that it should feel good. 'To give is better than to receive' . This relates to leadership because everyday we have a job and were always helping out. Weather it be doing i.d's, morning music w/ announcements, TV, etc. We're always helping out others. In this story a white man helps a black lady when she is stranded on the side of the road. He didn't know her situation, he just helped. This was a big deal because in this time segregation was going on and he didn't seem to know or care and he didn't expect anything in return. But, in return she gave a big color tv w/ a note thanking him for helping her. Lesson learned is to help others and to not be selfish. We don't need to know what the situation is and the debate over it if we should help or not. We just help.

3rd lesson- Always Remeber Those Who Serve;
We are reading this to understand that we need to be friendly and helpful to those who serve and to those who we are serving. This relates to leadership because we always need to be friendly and civil to people who we serve. In the story a boy asks a waitress how much a sundae and a plain ice cream cost. The sundae cost 50 cents and the plain ice cream cost 35 cents. He then decides to have plain ice cream. The boy finished the ice cream and left. When the waitress came to clean up she began to cry because he had 2 nickels and 5 pennies. He couldn't get the sundae because he wanted to have enough to leave her a tip. Lesson learned is to always be friendly and have a good attitude to those we serve.

4th lesson- The obstacle in our path;
Mr.ing is reading this to us because we all go through obstacles in life which help us in the future and with success. This ties in with leadership because every year we do go though rough times but in the end we come out of them better and sometimes successful. In the story the king puts a boulder in on the roadway and hid to see if anyone would try to move it. Many merchants blamed the king for not keeping the roads clear and simply walked around it, they did nothing about it even though it was an obstacle in their way. Then a peasant comes along and decides to try and move the boulder and after much pushing, he finally succeds and the boulder is no longer in the way. The peasant then finds a bag gold and note from the king indicating that the gold was for the person who moved the boulder. Lesson learned is that every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve our condition. Which means if we overcome our obstacles we will become successful and good things may sometimes happen.

5th lesson- Giving when it counts...;
We are reading this to understand that it's good to give when it counts most. In the story a little girl is suffering from a horrible rare disease and her only chance of living is to have a blood transfusion from her younger brother who survived the same disease. The doctor explained everything and asked if he would be willing to give is sister blood. He then answered with a yes. He then asked the doctor if he will die instantly. He didn't understand. He thought he'd have to give her all his blood for her to survive but he had said yes and chosen to save her anyways. Lesson learned is to give when it counts. Us in leadership are always dedicating our time to the students and school. Even if they appreciate it or not.

Oooh and I just like this picture and think it ties in with everything 👇👇👇👇
